Killzone 2 HD impressions

Just got the time to watch that Killzone 2 trailer I downloaded off the PS-Store. Spent a good 15 mins replaying it over and over, at times in slow-mo. It's interesting the detail you miss when watching it at normal speed.

I was studying the video, mostly because I was a bit disappointed (even though I knew it was inevitable) with the fact that this Killzone 2 trailer did not look as good as last year's. If the first one was never shown, this one would have impressed. But nevertheless, Killzone's graphic still catches the eye.

Forget about details of the graphics and all, I'm sure you've read it everywhere by now. What I want to point out is the weather effect in the trailer and how it seems to effect the surrounding. Wires sway as the wind blows, city lights up for a milisecond as lightning strikes and antennas make noises due to the storm.

Besides the weather, the other thing that impresses me is the blood effect. As enemies are shot, blood don't just spray. It seems like it depends on the damage. The more you shoot, the more the blood spreads. Shoot a little, a little blood comes out. Hell, the blood looks good!

I hope this game won't disappoint. Now, I'm contemplating whether I should go and download nucleus or not.

That Halo 3 Sound

Just thought I'd let you guys know (especially those who are visiting brugamers.com) that Loco6669SatanZ (bloody hell man, that's one long nick) uploaded the Halo 3 background theme I wanted from the latest Halo 3 trailer. If you're interested, go head over to the music page here to download it.

Halo 3 : Gravity Hammer

Well, well, well - this is interesting. Check out what I found at HaloPedia. Gravity hammer for Halo 3. Seriously, I want the Elite version now!

No Death in Fable 2

Here's an interesting piece on Fable 2
(which, despite all the news, I haven't seen much of the game). You can't die. You just get scars.

Apparently, Peter Molyneux, the mastermind behind this game, said that he was inspired by Casino Royale. How? I have no idea. Time to re-watch that movie on Blu-ray. Maybe I'll get inspired to collect imperfections on my body. Then again, that's a matter of perspectives.

If you do not like imperfections on your character, you get to choose to pay 1000 gold. So, it's either scars or money. That's one hell of a punishment if you die.

Then again, I've always reloaded saved games in case I don't like how things turn out.

Now, can Lionhead please get this game ready?

PSP vs Slim PSP

If you haven't already read it, the PSP is sporting a new look coming out in a couple of months. I've been looking around for comparisons of the slim PSP to the current one and finally found it. Here's a list of differences I read from PSPCrazy.com.

  1. No IR Port
  2. The battery pack open/button is different
  3. The speaker system is now located near the top of the PSP.
  4. The mic/earphone port is now moves up instead of being in the left groove. The mic port is also a video-out port interestingly enough.
  5. The memory stick slot is somewhat different, since it’s not in any of the prototypes.
  6. The standard battery pack is 1200 MaH vs the original one of 1800 MaH, don’t know how that makes the battery last longer at all.
  7. The analog nub seems a bit bigger then usual.

Finally! That useless IR Port is gone! And apparently, the PSP supports component cable - which means UMD movies can be played on TVs at 480p! Then again, I haven't got a UMD movie.

You can go here to view the full comparison with images. You can also check out the PlayStation blog for images of the new PSP boxart. Can't wait to see this come out in a couple of months!

Halo 3 E3 Trailer

Need I say more? This trailer rocks!

Slim, Sleeker PSP

If you haven't yet already seen it, Sony announced a sleeker, new PSP at E3. It still looks the same, except thinner. It's not PSP2 though, but it does, apparently, load games faster. The only really new feature, which I love, is video output. Let's see how PSP games look like on TV now shall we?

PS: If only it comes with HDMI output.
